Saskatchewan -- From crop improvements to a bee breeding program, twenty-five research and development projects in Saskatchewan have received support of $2.87 million from the Agriculture Development Fund (ADF).

Some of the organizations that will receive support in this round of funding include the University of Saskatchewan, the National Research Council Plant Biotechnology Institute, and the Saskatchewan Beekeepers Association.

The ADF was developed to foster innovative ideas that will contribute to the development and sustainability of the Saskatchewan agriculture and food sector. Previously the program accepted applications twice a year, but under a new process those wishing to apply for funding must now submit a letter of intent application as describe on the Government of Saskatchewan's website.
