Spoken Lives: Stories Women Share, Monday, February 25, 2019

February  25, 2019    Toronto, ON
Join us to hear these four powerful stories from these amazing women! Sarah Keast, Moving Forward While Standing Still. What do you do when the unimaginable happens? Two years ago, my life exploded into a million tiny pieces. Slowly but surely, Ive been picking up those tiny pieces and putting them back together. I dont recognize the picture that is emerging but its beautiful. Sandee Waite, Rite of Passage. I will share my story of how I recently came to the decision to place a sacred tattoo design on my head. How this permanent act has set a new intention and direction in my connections with myself and others. Mariatu Kamara, The Bite of the Mango. I was once a victim of the rebel attacks in Sierra Leone. I have built a life in Canada now and will share the journey I took to get here. I will also share what I've learned about inner strength and resilience. Arlene Vandersloot, Long Journey to Joy of Self. I will share the journey I have been on to find trust in my own mind. Childhood traumas impacted the ways in which I experienced myself, and a process of personal exploration and understanding has helped me heal from the traumas and find a robust and relaxed feeling of self.
